Invest in more Consistency & Understanding
R980 - 60 minute lesson / assessment - Stop the guessing, YouTube watching, trying things that work for others but don’t last for you, once and for all, and find out what will give you the best chance at long term improvement and consistency. Club comparisons or distance gapping checks with FlightScope are also welcome.
One Person
R490 p.p. - 60 minutes - take note though that this should ideally only be an option after the initial assessment which should rather be done individually (beginners are an exception). It can also be effectively used for a short game or on-course session.
Two Persons
R250 per person - 4 persons sharing a 60 minute session - ideal for a putting / short game session, and perfect for a valuable on-course session, in which you can learn how to improve your scoring without all the technical detail.
Group Lessons
Once your assessment is complete, it ideally should be followed up by the correct repetitions, allowing you to really understand and feel what is correct for you specifically (and what is not !) - throughout your game - here are the options:
R2790 (3 x 60 minutes) - Good for solving one issue in one part of your game.
R5580 (6 x 60 minutes) - Can be adapted to your needs specifically, or used as an all-round program - e.g. 2 x full swing sessions ; 2 x short game sessions ; and 2 x on-course sessions.
R7440 (6 in-person 60 minute sessions plus 120 minutes remote support) - Even though I don’t mind answering quick questions between “normal” lessons, this option gives you a lot of support between the sessions, which is often most helpful.
Another great option for those that are after consistency over time, is the monthly program, at R1760 per month (2 x 60 minutes per month). This program is only valid for a 10 month commitment. See the section below on improving and commitment.
All non-monthly programs should preferably have a time limit of 3 months for you to experience most benefit, after which we determine where you are in terms of the goals that were set.
Improvement Programs
Scholars / Students
R880 - 60 minutes individual lesson / assessment ; or R440 per person - 60 minutes shared. Please see the Junior Academy section for more about the quarterly programs. Scholars preferably over the age of 12. At least one parent to accompany a scholar’s initial assessment.
Note - Card payments are preferable, electronic payments only apply in exceptional circumstances. Programs to be paid at the 1st session at the latest - all sessions to be booked in advance before the end of a lesson - please have your diary ready for this. 24 hour cancellation notice applies.
You will mainly notice that my main goal is to show you what works for you specifically, and what not to waste your time trying, in order to reach much more pain free consistency. Try to arrive with an open mindset, since you will hearing much of this for the first time! There will be “technical stuff” as well, but this is mainly meant for me to help you better - you will only be given the most vital and easily understandable bits, in a logical sequence.
Please note that at the 45 minute mark of most lessons, a short summary will be made / discussed, followed by the booking of any neccessary future sessions, as well as the payment or any other administrational aspects that must be completed. Please come prepared for this e.g. please have your diary handy.
Anatomy of a lesson with me - what to expect
I have realized that two crucial aspects that have to be discussed even before beginning with lessons, are the following:
What is the client hoping to get out of the lessons? For example - do they just want to see what this is all about? / do they just want to find out how to fix one particular element of their game without too much commitment involved? / or do they want to (and are they also able to) commit to really improving their overall game in the long run?
If it is the latter reason, the following questions should be asked - bearing in mind that you will, in most cases, be taking one small step back initially in order to take many big steps forward in the long run:
Where am I now?
Where do I want to be and know I could be?
Am I able and willing to do it?
How will I get there and by when?
How will it make me feel when I get there?
If this is not decided initially, the worst situation can happen - the client does take that initial step backwards - which is normal and part of the process and will be proportional to how long the client has been unknowingly doing things that have been restricting him or her, so the new feeling does naturally take a while to get used to.
It happens regularly that I can clearly see from the data that improvement is taking place, but for the client it is an uncomfortable experience so this is where they must place trust in the system.
If no follow up takes place or plan is put in place, the client can misinterpret this initial setback as a sign that this does not work for them, and rather slip back into their familiar pattern, even though this was holding them back from more consistency and overall improvement. I will guide you through the process.
The Three Phases of the Improvement Process:
Teaching & Understanding
Understanding always comes before improvement. In this phase the student learns the mechanical aspect of the process. What is causing the inconsistencies and the changes necessary for improvement. They should first understand what they need to do, then start to get familiar with the correct feel and sequence. Naturally it also needs to be determined whether the person can physically do what is expected of them, which does however make up a big part of this coaching system.
Training
In this phase the student expands the new feeling into skill using drills and repetitions. Since I am moving you toward what your body wants you to do naturally, this phase moves faster than if you are moving away from your most suitable grip and body action for example. Taking it to the golf course can also begin in this phase (preferably during non-competitive rounds!).
Transfer
This is the phase where we see if you can fully apply the learnt skills on the golf course even in competition. On the range we can also simulate certain on course situations with quantifiable results (using FlightScope technology) to do the same.
I look forward to meeting you!
